2008 Information
Political contributions from individuals only are welcome. Donations from corporations, unions or any other organization are no longer allowed.
The credits outlined below are available to you as soon as you file your yearly individual income tax return.
Please consider making a small or a large donation to the Ottawa South Conservative Association. If you give to your local riding association, ALLÂ the donation goes to helping to elect a conservative in your community. A contribution to the national party will generally be used on national campaigns, rather than in your local riding.
Political contributions made during the 2008 calendar year qualify for generous tax credits on your 2008 income tax return.
The 2008 tax credit formula is:

for contributions between 0 and $400.00, you will get back 75%;

for contributions between $400.00 and $750.00, you will get back $300.00 plus 50% of the amount over $400.00;

for contributions over $750.00, you will get back $475.00 plus 33 1/3% of the amount over $750.00 up to a maximum of $557.50 annually

An individual who is a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident may make political donations of up to $1,000.00 in any calendar year, indexed annually. The contribution limit for 2008 is $1,100.
Donations can be attributed as follows:
1) to the Conservative Party of Canada, up to $1,100, through the Conservative Fund Canada by clicking here: www.conservative.ca
2) to any combination of electoral district associations, candidates and leadership contestants, up to $1,100.
You can make your donation by VISA or mastercard, by filling out a form (above) and mailing it to our address below or by faxing the number, your name and address, expiry date and the amount to 613.733-4390.
